Bearings and Supports
Since 1939, NACHI has been developing bearings of the highest caliber. Every step of production is carried out and controlled in NACHI's own plants, from steelmaking and heat treatment to component machining and bearing assembly.
Today NACHI offers a wide range of ball, roller, spherical roller and precision bearings for applications in general machinery, agriculture, transmission, fluids, aerospace and the demanding automotive industry.
In general, contact bearings can be classified as radial or thrust bearings based on their design, or as ball or roller bearings based on the type of rolling element. Radial bearings are primarily designed to support loads perpendicular to a shaft axis, while thrust bearings accept loads parallel to the shaft axis. Using the ball and roller bearing classification, roller bearings can be further divided into subclasses based on the roller shape: cylindrical roller bearings, tapered roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, or needle roller bearings. Ball bearings can be divided by the number of rows into single-row or double-row (for thrust, one-way, and two-way ball bearings). Ball bearings can be further subdivided into smaller segments based on the relationship between the bearing rings and the rolling elements, the shape of the bearing rings, and the use of accessories. Bearings are also classified by specific applications, such as clutch release ball bearings for automotive applications.
