Variable Speed Pulleys – VAR
The Variable Speed Pulley is a high-performance unit that provides continuous speed variation at a low cost . The hub is made of induction -hardened steel and hard chrome - plated for uninterrupted sliding adjustment with flanges . Wrenches are not required for this application . The movable flanges provide a large contact area , eliminating uneven belt pressure .
The pulley flanges are coupled by means of nylon sleeve couplings ( 6,6) on the outside of the flanges and by means of two machined flats at each end of the pulley hub . Two springs located inside the nylon coupling provide the desired pressure .
Fixed pulleys
The fixed drive pulley is specifically designed for use with VAR pulleys . They are manufactured from gray cast iron (GG20 -GG25 ) and treated with a black manganese phosphate coating .
