TheVariableSpeedPulleyisahigh-performance unitthatprovidescontinuousspeedvariationatlowcost. Thehubismadeofinduction-hardenedsteel,hardchrome-platedtoprovideuninterruptedslidingadjustmentwithflanges.Keysarenotusedwiththisapplication. Themovableflangesprovideawidecontactarea,eliminatingunevenbeltpressure.
Thepulleyflangesareconnectedusingnylonsleevecouplings(6.6)ontheoutsideoftheflangesandtwomachinedplanesateachendofthepulleyhub. Twospringslocatedinsidethenyloncouplingprovidethedesiredpressure.
Fixed pulleys
ThefixeddrivepulleyisspecificallydesignedforusewithVARpulleys.They aremanufacturedfromgraycastiron(GG20-GG25)andtreatedwithablackmanganesephosphatingprocess.
